What is CMS?

A CMS (Content Management System) is an easy-to-use program which allows you to manage the content of your website without knowledge of HMTL, or outside technical assistance.

Content management systems have many features including the option to create, submit and change content on your website. It sounds great, and that's because it is!

A CMS programs can be simple, advanced, or anything in between. You've probably heard of WordPress and you may have used it yourself - if so, you're already familiar with a CMS.

For many people, the idea of running their own website can be daunting. They worry that they'll have to learn HTML or pay a web developer to maintain their website. A CMS is an easy solution - being able to maintain your own website quickly and easily will not only save you headaches, it will save you the cost of paying someone else to do it!

The idea is that a web developer builds the website, trains you how to maintain it, and leaves you to it. Everything you need should be within the CMS - but if you have any problems or queries, you can contact your web developer.

Having a CMS also means you can upload or change web content instantly. You won't have to liaise with any other companies, web developers or writers - just use your CMS to do it all yourself. It is faster, easier, and leaves you in control.
